Happiness With A Side Of Tea : 6 Valentines Day Ideas For An LDR

6 Valentines Day Ideas For An LDR

It’s that time of the month again when girls go crazy with expectations and boys can either meet that expectation or totally disappoint their crushes or girlfriends. It’s Valentines day in a few more days. I was thinking this day really sucks if one you’re single or if you’re in a long distance relationships. I dread going to the stores and seeing all these bears, heart shaped candy, roses, and ect. It just a painful reminder that I won’t be spending Valentines with my boyfriend like I planned to. I realized Valentines day can make people who are in long distance relationship and those who are single feel like shit (pardon my french). However I’ve been thinking a lot about it and decided it doesn’t have to feel that way. I mean Valentines Day is all about telling or showing that person you love or like what they mean to you, you should be doing that everyday. I honestly think it’s how they commercialize it and advertise it that makes us LDR couples or single people feel like crap. So I decided to share some ideas on how to spend valentines day for people in LDR relationships.

1.) Don’t Participate In It: You could decided not to put to much pressure on each other and your relationship by not even doing the whole Valentines Day thing. I mean you’re supposed to tell and show the person you love how much they mean to you and ect. every day why make a big deal out of one day when there are 364 more days in the year.

2.)Letters, Cards or E-cards: Never underestimate a heartfelt letter. It’s simple but it’s a wonderful way to show the person you care about that you’re thinking of them even if you can’t be together at the moment. Write a lovely letter about how much you love them, the first time you met, or what you love about them. Then send it to them via snail mail or via computer. It’s the same with cards you can go purchase a card at the store or you can make one on your own then send it to them. If you rather just find a lovely e-card online then do that as well and send it to them with a lovely little message. Trust me it’ll really make their day.

3.)Movie Dates: Just because you’re miles away doesn’t mean you can’t have movie date. Pick a movie both of you might love and then hop on Skype and watch it together. Seems weird but don’t knock it till you try it.

4.) Spend All Night Talking To Each Other: It’s nice to just have that time alone when you guys aren’t interrupted by anything and it’s just a you and them type thing. So go on Skype,Face Time or Ovvoo and just enjoy each others company.

5.) Handmade Gifts or Gifts: You could always purchase lovely gifts for them that you’d think they’d like and ship it to them or you could make some sweet personal gifts on your own. Everyone loves handmade gifts they’re never overrated.
